Social Studies Instructional Design (FALL 2024)

A student-centered Social Studies classroom focuses on slowly scaffolding discipline-specific thinking skills where students are the primary actors. Each module in the course will include space to learn, grow, and develop materials for use in the specific attendee’s classroom. The focus will include: analysis of current instructional patterns, inductive lesson planning and enactment, writing in social studies with effective feedback, Harkness discussions, and using AI.
