SEL Hub: PL Quick Bites: Creating Calm, Using Art to Relieve Stress
Art can provide a powerful way to practice self-reflection, manage stress, and harness your creative potential. In this one-hour session, participants will explore the topics of mindfulness, creativity, and social-emotional wellbeing through the medium of art. Attendees will be guided through a meditative art experience, in which they will have the opportunity to create their own piece of artwork and explore how tactile work and play can promote mindful habits. No previous art experience required: just an open mind and heART.
In addition to participants exploring their own interior landscape, they will also be given ways to connect creativity to their classrooms to improve students' social-emotional skills.
Presented by Linda DeYounge.
Registration covers the cost of materials to create your own guided painting, as well as a piping hot pizza from Nunzios to take home after the session!
Participant will be responsible for the registration fee unless cancellation notice is received by the ROE 4+ office within 7 business days of the training. Refunds will not be processed unless this criteria is met.
