REGIONAL ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM (RAP)

The Regional Alternative Program of Carroll, Jo Daviess, and Stephenson Counties provides a fresh start for youth through an educational program that provides opportunities that lead to success.
ENROLLMENT ELIGIBILITY FOR RAP
- Students in grades 6 through 12 who are suspension-eligible or expulsion-eligible from public school districts in Carroll, Jo Daviess, and Stephenson Counties
ENROLLMENT REFERRAL PROCESS
- Students must be referred by their school district
- RAP staff will contact parent(s)/guardian to schedule Intake Interview
- Parent(s)/guardian and Student must participate in the Intake Interview to discuss program rules and expectations
SERVICES RAP STUDENTS RECEIVE
- Each student has an Alternative Education Plan (AEP) that outlines their academic, behavioral, attendance goals, and timeframe for placement at RAP
- Computer based learning with curriculum aligned to the Common Core State Standards
- Small group direct instruction from certified teaching staff
- Small group counseling
- Linkage to local social services as needed
- Continual communication with the parent(s)/guardian and sending school district to discuss progress towards the student's goals
