      Work Permits

All work permits are issued through the child's school district if he or she is enrolled in an Illinois public school.

Please contact your child's district office for a list of their issuing officers.

The Regional Office of Education #8 would only issue a work permit for those that are homeschooled or if the child lives out-of-state but will be working in Illinois.

For a minor child (ages 0-15 years of age) to be able to work in Illinois, he or she must be issued a work permit.  Permit is valid for 1 year from the time of issuance for the employer listed.

You will need to contact the Regional Office of Education #8 to set up an appointment in order to get a work permit for those homeschooled or living out-of-state.
